What Is URL, HTTP and HTTPS ?

What Is URL ?

Just like our homes have their own address, every website on the Internet also has its own address, which is called URL.

Basically URL is the address of any websites by which we can search any website over the internet.
It is located in the addressbar at the top of your internet browser. In mostly web browser, we can find url on the top of the browser page in address bar.

For example- [https://www.technicallally.in] which is the web address of my website and also URL of my website.

Full form of URL is Uniform Resource Locators. And it was defined by Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web (WWW).

What is HTTP ?

HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is a law to transferring files (text, graphic, image, sound, video, and other multimedia files) to the Internet.

When writing the address of a web site in the URL box in mostly browsers, it is automatically written next to it. Always behind http: such a sign and then // such slanted lines are to be followed and after that the web address has to be written.

The Hypertext Transfer Protocol was invented or first used by Ted Nelson in 1985. Its first documentary version http vo.9 was launched in 1919.

What is HTTPS ?

HTTPS may be a protocol through which secure communication is often done to any website from a browser on the web.

The 'S' at the top of HTTPS stands for 'Secure'. It means all communications between your browser and therefore the website are encrypted.
It is mostly used for securing online shopping and banking.

In HTTPS, the communication protocol is encrypted using Transport Layer Security or, formerly, its ancestor, Secure Sockets Layer.

HTTPS was formally specified by RFC 2818 in May 2000.
